Saturday, April 25th, we're hanging out at the Rec! From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the SIU Student Recreation Center, IJAS participants and their guests can enjoy games, activities, and fun. Try out the climbing wall, or shoot some hoops with your new IJAS Science Fair friends!

Purchase Tickets for Saturday at the Rec

Waiver required for participants under age 18.

Rules for Saturday at the Rec:

  • Drop off signed waivers at the main desk
  • Get equipment (basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs) from bin Red by the Reception Desk by the entrance
  • Once finished using the equipment, bring it back to the bin for others to use
  • Do not use the saunas in the locker rooms
  • Must wear closed-toe shoes in the facility (no sandals)
  • No weight equipment or cardio machines are to be used
  • No running in the hallways
  • The Climbing wall is available from 11 am-2 pm
  • The Pool is NOT available
  • Free daily use lockers can be used to lock up personal items

We have several activities planned throughout the event, so come early and plan to stay! Activities include:

  • Games provided by Castle Perilous
  • Climbing wall
  • Rec activities (basketball, table tennis, pickleball, soccer, kickball, etc.)
  • Hanging out with your new IJAS Science Fair friends

Saturday at the Rec is open to all IJAS State Science Fair participants and their guests.

Parking for Saturday at the Rec: Free parking for this Saturday event is available in Lot 94 (north of the Student Recreation Center) or Lot 45 (across Grand Avenue, south of the Student Recreation Center).
